Priorities

I see most of our County issues through the eye of Liberty, Community and Home.

Liberty: I firmly believe our natural rights come from our creator and not our Government.  I will follow the US constitution in any decision making endeavor at all time.  I place integrity, sincerity and transparency at the top of my list.

Community:  I will strive to provide the best county services possible while maintaining fiscal responsibility and restraint.  I will strive to bring rural friendly business to our county to relieve some of the tax burden from Powhatan property owners and bring employment opportunities here. 

 

I will fight against the sprawl and the high density housing we see in some of our neighboring communities.

  • I believe in the right project in the right place for our managed growth.

 

  • I support our schools and our teachers. I also believe in the freedom of choice for schools and curriculum.

    

  • I will do all in my power to help stop the Green Ridge dump from being built or affecting our county.

  • ​

  • I will introduce resolutions or ordinances designed to protect the rights of Powhatan citizens

  • ​

  • I will do all in my power to prevent outside interests controlling our local zoning.

  • I desire to make Conceal Carry Permits in Powhatan County FREE for our citizens.

  • ​

  • No Public funding for radical agendas.

  • ​

  • I will not vote for a tax rate change until all other cost savings or cost avoidance options are exhausted

  • ​

  • I see no reason our county can not give our First Responders and Teachers a raise, and, at the same time reduce our bloated administration costs.

  • ​

  • I know our board now is trying to get the broadband issue solved. I will do whatever I can to get this done.

  • ​

  • I will also get busy with VDOT to make Powhatan roads a priority.

  • ​

  • I will COMMUNICATE openly with everyone as we work on these issues TOGETHER

I want to hear from all county constituents on what problems we face and any ideas for solutions. I am willing to think outside the box. We are a growing county , and the decisions we make today will directly affect our future.

Home:   Powhatan is OUR HOME. We make the decisions that are best for Powhatan above all. I want to preserve our home as the safe, beautiful, rural paradise that it is. This is an effort that we are all a part of. I will be available to anyone that wishes to converse.

 

Powhatan is our forever home.
